WCM SUMMER SCHOOL BACKGROUND

The WCM Summer School is a yearly event organized by the University of Twente and the World Class Maintenance foundation (WCM) since 2012 and hosted by the Ministry of Defense on the topic of Maintenance Management & Engineering.

Every year the newest theoretical insights are presented in a series of workshops by professors and instructors of seven Dutch universities. Other key aspects of the WCM Summer School are working on a case from practise and a leadership training. Participants are young professionals and PhD and master students with a technical background.

Cooperation between universities

For the WCM Summer School, WCM facilitates the cooperation between universities in The Netherlands on the subject of Maintenance Engineering, i.e. University of Groningen, Technical university of Delft, Eindhoven University of Technology, Netherlands Defence Academy, University of Tilburg, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Radboud University, University of Twente and NWO (Dutch Research Council).

Cooperation with industry and education

Under the flag of WCM, many companies are in cooperation with educational organizations active in maintenance innovations which are crucial for a sustainable, safe and development of the Dutch economy. In WCM educational organizations of all levels cooperate from a shared vision and ambition to develop and distribute top-knowledge and top-education. The resulting closer cooperation between knowledge centres, participating universities and industry enhances valorisation of maintenance knowledge.
