The challenge in many Smart Maintenance projects is whether, and if so, when implementing predictive maintenance is worthwhile. Additionally, after implementation, the realization of benefits is seldom actually monitored to confirm whether it aligns with the original, often theoretical, calculations for the business case.

The benefits monitor visualizes the potential benefits of Smart Maintenance. Based on theoretical values, the maintenance costs of different maintenance strategies can be calculated. The method assists in evaluating various maintenance strategies and provides specific insight into the business case/benefits of predictive maintenance. The method also includes a way to monitor the benefits post-implementation. This allows for the optimization of the theoretical model, enabling future decisions regarding predictive maintenance to be weighed with a higher level of certainty.
